Could you tell us something about yourself, where you live and how old are you?
Of course I can. My name is Ed and I live right outside of Princeton, NJ. I’m 19 years old.
Any disgusting personal habits?
Not that I know of.
Hobbies?
I am a DJ. I am on a college radio show in North Jersey. I like collecting records, old and new, (more so old). I also enjoy taking
photos of random subjects. I play sports too, preferrably basketball.
How did you first learn of the internet?
Probably in 1994 or 95, over at my cousin’s house. He was rocking Prodigy back then. That’s old school.
You had site called the Simpsons Gallery. Tell me something about it?
Well yeah, It was basically a site where I’d post my own images of Simpsons characters that I’d make in Photoshop. Someone tagged these images with the term, “grab-pics”, pretty homo if you ask me. But yeah, that’s pretty much all it was, a collection of Simpson pictures I’d create.
Who/what inspired you to create it?
The show itself and a couple other sites I guess. Part boredom as well.
It has been closed many years now. What was the main reason to close the doors?
Because it was getting stale. At the time it first came out it seemed like a good idea, but pretty soon everyone was putting these “grabpics” on their sites so there was no use for a site like mine to still be online.
What do you think about today’s Simpsons sites on the net?
Well I don’t visit them anymore.. so I guess I can’t answer this question.
Are there any Simpsons websites with an attractive design and layout in your opinion?
Well yea, the Folder. Always comes with the fresh design.
What is the worst Simpsons site you have visited?
I don’t know any off-hand, there were alot of bad wannabe’s in ’99 though.
You have personal blog at tacomat.com/ed which mainly consist your photography. Is camera your friend or enemy?
Haha, excellent question. It is my friend because it lets me take all those ridiculous pictures everyone sees everyday. It’s also
becoming my enemy because it’s out of date and can’t compete with the newer cameras out there.
What kind of photographs you like most? Do you have any favorite photographer?
Street Photography is probably my favorite. Within the past year I’m starting to learn more about famous photographers, so I’ll have to get back to you on that one. My favorite era of photos is mid 60s to late
70s.
What are design styles you love and hate?
Simplicity. That is key in my mind. Keep it simple and make sure everything is uniform.
What do you like and hate about the net?
It lets me get interviewed by a man from Finland. That I like. I don’t really hate anything about it. What’s there to hate?
What is your favorite episode on The Simpsons and why?
Tough. But I’ll have to go with Homer: Bad Man. It just never gets old for me.
How do you see future of The Simpsons?
I actually haven’t been watching it lately. But I’m sure they’ll still keep coming up with crazy plotlines and be on for another 3 or 4
years.
How would you like to be remembered?
By my friends and family or by geek Simpson webmasters? Haha.
Any final comments?
Thanks for interviewing me Juk.. glad to be of service
