Ahhh, day #2 with the new design. So far its going good, with
the exception of a few errors. Some people have reported not being
able to use the navigation at the top, so for that reason I have
made a Text
Navigation menu. You can find the link on the bottom of
every page.
Welcome everyone to
the newly designed 'Round Springfield! As you can see, we've
completely changed the site in many ways. One of the most noticable
change is the design and color scheme. I tried to get away from the
old colors and the old navigation on the left. This is what I came
up with, I Hope you enjoy it.
Navigation - That is on the top, the round circles. Click the
images, and you get a menu. From there, continue onto the section
you want. On the left, you'll find A weekly poll, search engines
that will search the site, or our news items, and affiliates.
Another change around here is our pages don't end in .html or
.shtml anymore. We are now using a scripting language called php3.
This "php3" can do wonderful things, one of them being if I wanted
to change the layout, I only need to change one file. A down side to
this is we can no longer use our CGI poll, so we now use one of the
free web ones =\
Netscape users......get Internet Explorer. About 5 hours into the
design I said to myself "Oh crap, I wonder how it looks in Netscape"
and, sadly, not too good. Since I was so far into the design, I
didn't want to redo it all. Sorry Netscape users. This site has been
tested in all screen sizes, and a few of the major browsers (MSIE,
Neoplanet, Opera, Netscape) and works like it should in all of them,
except netscape.
I've cleared all 1 pointers on the Jumble contest. I will do this
every month so the winner list doesn't take a long time to load.
Oook, I think this update is long enough =) Later guys.
I've completed two news pictures today. The first one we have
Homer
siting. The second picture we have Ned Flanders
whistling. Changes coming very soon - stay tuned.

A new interview has been added to the interviews page
today. This one is with Justin pogostick Polokoff of Behind the Laughter. Click
Here
to read it.
Also, the HotBar section has
been updated with a new skin of Disco Stu. This brings our skin
total to 6.
For all you simpson fans that are thinking about making a
website, Joe Cams of eSimpsons is selling
Simpsons.simplenet.com on eBay. Click here
to check it out.
Thanks to a fellow
webmaster, a typo has been detected in our Jumble contest. The
error has been corrected, and the contest will restart on Sunday
instead of Saturday for this reason. A few people still got the
answer right regardless of the mistake.....heh.
I just finished updating the Jumble Contest. Last
weeks answer was "Lester." I tried to make this weeks a bit easier.
The Newsletter just went out also.

2000 | If these trends continue,
aaaaay!
Heya Gang :) Been a while since I last updated here at 'Round
Springfield, but now I return with an update (yes, thats right).
First of all, i've re-drawn one of Eric's old grabpic drawings of
Bart Shaking
his Fist, which is now up in the Original Images Gallery.
The old drawing can be viewed here.
Eric
also created a brand spanking new picture of Lisa Looking at
Something, which will be up in the Original Images page when
the new design is complete. Until next time, take care, and respect
the tacos.

2000 | This tastes like Grandma!
Not a lot of updates have been happening here, this is
because I'm trying to finish the new layout, finish the game, and
finish the links page and all of this is taking up most of my time.
It shouldn't be too much longer though, so stay tuned.
As for now, the Webnews has been
updated. I may be able to get a content update in by the end of the
day......who knows.
Okay, you may have noticed that some of our updates were
deleted, and our site was down last night. Something baaad happened
to the server, and files were restored to the 28th, so all my 29th
updates are gone. So, if you missed yesterdays update, the Jumble Contest has
been restarted.
I just sent out the 16th issue of the newsletter to about 220
people. Enjoy....
